Tear: Frankesntein
The mysterious and suspensful, fictious novel of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley shows victor Frankensteins Demise and the end of the frankesnstein family and Victor's experiments.
Victor's obsession with alchemy leads him into unsettling ideas of science and nature and growns into his obsession with conquering death. "I had worked hard for nearly two years, for the sole purpose of infusing life into an inanimate body"(Shelley, 79). This quote reveals a sense of obsession in Victor's mind. He took two years to study, research and experiment how to give life to a creature. This foreshadows the begininning of a bad end. The Creature Victor creates murders his brother William as victor decided to run away from it. "Frankenstein! you belong then to my enemy--to him toward whom I have sworn eternal revenge; you shall be my first victim"(Shelley, 259). This quote depicts and clarifies what the reader may have been questioning about frankensteins intentions. It presents the danger slowly growing and making it's way to victor.
The creature finally confronts his creator(victor) and asks for a female companion in return to leave and depart himself from human contact. This does not occur. Victor ends up dying as he searches for the moster in the artic ocean after the monster kills his bride elizabeth and his father dies of grief. Frankestein is the only one that stands. "I have murdered the lovely and the helpless; i have strangled the innocent as they slept, and grasped to death his throat who never injured me..I have devoted my creator...There he lies, white and cold in Death" (Shelley, 427). This quote shows that the creatiure is reflecting back on the recent events. Victors Death brought the end to the monsters need of revenge and was the last frankenstein to live. It was his curiousity that killed his family and himself.
